In the marina a lonely woman stood
her bright green eyes set on a distant ship
seemed set a flame in the evening sun
and her long expensive yellow dress
flickered in the warm summer wind
like a dying candle a cold winter night

her face was turned to a horizon
that was swallowing a thousand men
her old soul crackled violently
and in the light reflected a heartbreaking blue
above a bellowing sky flirted with eternity
an eternity of thunder and rain

the rotting bridge she stood on
that creaked despite her tiny frame
must have seen many shattered souls before
and the horizon admiring the scene
that faced the ship she was crying for
that horizon must have seen many goodbyes
