You ask me why I hide things away
You ask me why I keep my world so small
It’s my integrity, don’t wanna talk tall
Don’t wanna repeat some prophet’s words
I get all them habits to me, good and bad
I get all them habits to me, glad and sad
My heart is hardly pounding, please go
You keep my head moving slow, please go
Going to stay out of meeting a total stranger
Going to read my mind for some time
Don’t you keep follow me around
Stop to intrude in my precious time
Habits, they hang on to me like glue
Habits, oh I wish they were a little less
More of them get to hard to handle
Habits stay away, stay away from my heart
Stories I had years ago has been erased
My heart doesn’t bleed like it used to
No old friend of mine needs to fear a quiz
Their names will never enter human history
I get all them habits to me, good and bad

I will never expose my heart for the curious
A secret remains in my heart and soul
I will never stop searching for the right one
The one that doesn’t carve my soul
