PRESSURE

I’m neither a poet nor a wise minister
And I don’t care much about political drivel
I know depths we won’t find the words for
And I’m well aware of the limits to extreme
Got this pressure - a lustre inside
Pushing the words ahead of me
Got these green eyes open wide
Seeking a system within without -
where the line of belief is free…
I don’t read daily news, it’s to sinister
Call me a fool but I’m behaving quite civil
I’ve learned the foundation of human lore
Still… I won’t go to the well of mainstream
Get back to the matter - that’s what I mean
(the essential language - held in high esteem)
Got to let the pressure flow - that’s what I mean
(significant perceptions - the wind supreme)
The pressure, the extent of ideas to divide
The pressure, can’t let the gist all subside
Moving within this improving twister
Trying to uncover pride inside a quiet shell
Seeking these facts outside the worldly door
I live to share my heart I love the unforeseen
Got this pressure - a lustre inside
Pushing the words ahead of me

Get back to the matter - that’s what I mean
(the romantic connection - the higher dream)
Got to let the pressure flow - that’s what I mean
(the true poetic essence - a phrase that gleam)
The pressure, the extent of ideas to divide
The pressure, can’t let the gist all subside
Give heed to this my wary little sister
Life is cruel I guess the truth is hard to sell
We go astray to share the words we adore
It’s the elixir, a delicious sugar sweet cream
