TIMELESS HEROES

Collage of thought, memories long
Inspire to paint the moments gone
When men were heroes on a page
And women never seemed to age
A time when love, a hidden view
could still be found safe and true
Not splashed with ugly read and green
Predator Aids on the scene
When mothers still needed a father's hand
To etch the life of their little man
And landscapes rose to painter's need
Now gaping sores of toxic greed
Oh! Where is the air, so seet in scent
That poets drank and heaven sent
The words they wrote for times to come
When memories fade and beauty's done
Now, the writers are rebels and the poets scream
For the moment has gone to be calm and serene
In the blazing sun, my tears turn to salt
For the beauty we lost from this once treasure vault
But I'll still read the pages, though they be scorched
And gaze at the landscapes that haven't been torched
