Amsterdam
I was sitting on the plane
That was going to take me away
And I wished that I could stay
For just one more day
At that point my world was made of clay
There is nothing you can do to make it okay
‘Cause this place is not my home
And these people are not my friends
I just want to be where the rainbow ends
In Heaven I don’t have to hide who I am
Heaven is a place on earth, it’s called Amsterdam
I’m walking through Stockholm late at night
The city is beautiful, but something isn’t right
How could I describe?
How could I make you understand?
It’s this whole country to which I have no bands
The city is so quiet and I’m all alone
Just like my life, since I came back to Stockholm
‘Cause this place is not my home
And this person is not me
I just want to be happy and free
With the people who love me for who I am
I want to go back to Amsterdam
Of how I could be happy I don’t have a clue
I’m still just searching for something that’s true
But whatever I do they don’t understand
I’ll always be lonely outside my Amsterdam
My heart is acing when I think
Of the place where I really belong
And I pray I will not sink
That time here won’t be so long
But nothing can fill the hole in my heart
And sometimes I think I’ll just fall apart
It’s the most beautiful place I have ever seen
It’s the closest to home I have ever been
Why did you make me leave my beloved Amsterdam???
