Together Always

I’ll be waiting
till the leaves start to fall
till the birds leave the trees
and the winter arrives

I’ll be standing there, waving
till you see my raised hands
till you come running
and take me in your arms

I’ll be holding you close
till your smell is in my blood
till your hair is on my cheek
and your lips against my neck

I’ll be loving you always
till the sun goes down
till the moon sets high
and our grave is dug
